Susan Hoyle
My background is in corporate tax, including a spell working offshore for an international accounting firm, and being tax partner in two major law firms.
When I first encountered FBS I was struck by how much its work transformed the landscape of tax planning. It made sense to plan for the future after a family had decided Why they want to be a family in business together, and FBS went into the Why more thoroughly and comprehensively than I had ever encountered before.
From this introduction I became convinced that the effectiveness of tax strategies for complex family enterprises needed someone - me - who was approaching the challenge from the world of family enterprise consulting with a tax background.
FBS is not in the business of giving tax advice, but my experience helps ensure that the work of FBS never strays what is ultimately possible in terms of tax legislation.
My role in FBS covers the whole range of services for family enterprises. Given where I come from, I also help my former colleagues in law, accountancy and tax understand the true nature of their family enterprise clients.
